Fraser Coast-based national franchise Johnno’s Camper Trailers set a new benchmark last week, when they were selected as one of the top three in their field at national titles in Melbourne.
The team claimed the gong at the inaugural Off-Road Camper Trailer of the Year Awards, recognised by Camper Trailer Australia in the national soft-floor category.
The announcement followed two gruelling days of rugged off-road testing at Melbourne’s 4×4 Training and Proving Grounds, where a diverse range of hard- and soft-floor camper trailers, Ute-back and crossover campers were put through their paces by camping industry and motoring experts.
Judging criteria included off-road suspension, durability, comfort, value for money and family friendliness.
“These are the ‘Oscars’ of the Camper Trailer industry in Australia” said Johnno’s Camper Trailer Director, Craig McGown.
“The awards represent the best of the best in the camping industry and it’s an absolute privilege to have the efforts of our entire team recognised at this level.”
Judges included such pundits as Motorhome World’s Philip Lord, 4×4 Australia’s Glen Torrens, Camper Trailer Australia Magazine Editor Carlisle Rogers and Rob Sanderson from the campertrailers.org website.
“We’re thrilled to rank as national finalists, but our focus is always on continuous improvement,” said Craig.
“We listen very carefully to the people at the coalface, our customers and our 40 franchisees nationwide, to make sure we’re producing and delivering the very best camper trailer to meet
their hire or sales needs.”
“So you can be sure we’ll be hitting the road with next year’s latest and greatest model with our sights set on the national title.”
